Abstract Currency

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 7, 2026

AbstractCurrency (abstractcurrency.com) publishes articles, interactive tools and a small shop. This page says what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Reading the site and using the tools

You don't need an account, and we don't run advertising or analytics trackers. The tools keep their state in your own browser's local storage: your cart, your saved routes through the Problem and Policy webs, your quiz results and watchlists. That data never reaches us, and clearing your browser's site data deletes it.

Buying something

Checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe collects your card, billing and shipping details; we never see or store your card number. When a payment completes we record the order: your email, shipping address, what you bought and what you paid. We use it to fulfil the order, handle refunds and returns, and keep the business records the law requires. For print-on-demand items, your name, shipping address and email go to our print partner so they can make and ship it.

Who else receives data

  • Stripe takes card payments at checkout and collects your billing and shipping details (their policy).
  • Printify prints and ships print-on-demand orders, so it receives your name, shipping address and email (their policy).
  • Supabase hosts our database, where orders are recorded (their policy).
  • Netlify hosts the website and keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and reliability (their policy).
  • OpenRouter runs the AI that expands the Problem and Policy webs; it receives the topic path you clicked, never anything about you (their policy).

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies of its own. Stripe sets its own on its checkout page. Our admin area, used only by us, uses a sign-in cookie.

YouTube

Our admin area uses YouTube API Services to upload our own videos to our own channel. It is used only by us, never by visitors. When the channel owner connects it, we request permission to upload videos and to read the channel's name; we store the authorisation token on our server so uploads can continue, and we use it for nothing else. We don't access, store or share any visitor's YouTube or Google data. By using YouTube features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Access can be revoked at any time from Google account permissions; we delete the stored token when the channel is disconnected.

Keeping and deleting your data

Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we aren't required to keep, by emailing abstractcurrency@gmail.com.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. See also our Terms of Service.
